Recital will conclude the year in late May at the Dothan Civic Center.
Recital Opportunities
Dothan School of Dance concludes its ten month session in late May with a recital. It is strongly recommended that each student participate in the recital in order to develop their confidence and performing abilities.
Performance Teams
For the serious dancer, the Dothan School of Dance provides performance teams which give these talented and dedicated dancers more exposure to professional workshops and world-renowned choreographers and teachers through regional and national conventions and competitions. Annual auditions are required for the performance teams.
Southeast Alabama Dance Company (SEADAC)
In addition, interested students ages 7 and up can audition for non-company roles in Southeast Alabama Dance Company’s (SEADAC) annual Christmas performance of “The Nutcracker” as well as their spring performance which is to be announced each year. Dancers ages 12 and up can audition to become an actual company member of SEADAC, which is an honor company member of the Southeast Regional Ballet Association. This provides them with a free company class each week, along with the opportunity to perform in full length ballets and original works by various professional choreographers. Both of these groups of students are not only talented dancers but they provide great role models for the school and the community. www.southeastalabamadancecompany.org
