Curriculum

Students ages 3 and up are offered various levels of classes in Creative Movement, Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Hip Hop and Mommy & Me (age 2). All students are placed according to their ability by our faculty. As a student progresses, more classes are required. Students MUST take the minimum required amount of classes for their level as they progress.

Classes Offered

CREATIVE MOVEMENT:
Levels I & II: Age 3 (Level I) – age 4 (Level II), one 45 minute class per week. This class teaches basic ballet positions and terminology in a fun and creative atmosphere. It also teaches skills that develop coordination, flexibility, rhythm and basic locomotive movements.

HIPPITY HOPPITY:
Great first dance class for girls or boys ages 3-5 who can’t stop moving, one 45 minute class per week! Dance Movements will mix hip hop, tumbling and creative moves to inspire young dancers. Music style is age appropriate. Ballet or Jazz dancewear is required for class and tan jazz shoes.

KINDERGARTEN BALLET/TAP/JAZZ:
Age 5, one hour class per week, combining basic ballet with tap or jazz technique.

ACROBATICS:
Ages 5 & up, one 45 minute or 1 hour class per week, depending on level.

BALLET Levels I – VIII:
Ages 6 and up, 45 minute class per week for beginners. For intermediate and advance levels, several 1 to 1 1/2 hour classes are offered weekly.

JAZZ Levels I – VIII:
Ages 6 and up, 45 minute class per week for beginners. For intermediate and advance levels, several 1 to 1 1/2 hour classes are offered weekly.

TAP Levels I – VIII:
Ages 6 and up, 45 minute class per week for beginners. For level s7 and 8, 1 hour class per week.

POINTE:
No student may take Pointe without a minimum of 2 ballet classes taken per week. Students MUST meet the technical requirements and be recommended by their teacher to take these classes.

TEEN CLASSES:
Ages 10 and up, one hour class per week offered in ballet, tap or jazz. For teens who want to take class for the fun and exercise without a serious commitment.

HIP HOP:
Ages 7 and up, one 45 minute or 1 hour class per week. For those who want to take class for the fun and exercise without a serious commitment.

CONTEMPORARY:
Ages 9 and up, one 45 minute per week. For to combine jazz, lyrical and modern skills.
