Courtney Doolittle

Miss Doolittle became a scholarship member of GAD’s pre-professional company, Georgia Dance Theatre, in the 2012-2013 season. As a member of GDT, she performed various featured roles in The Nutcracker Tea, A Celebration of Contemporary Dance, Alice in Wonderland, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. In addition to performing, Miss Doolittle was an Assistant Dance Educator at GAD during her junior and senior years of high school. She credits this experience to sparking her interest and passion for dance education.

In the Spring of 2013, Miss Doolittle was offered a full ride dance scholarship to Southern Union Community College (Wadley, AL) and an academic scholarship to Troy University (Troy, AL). She chose to continue her education at Troy. During her college career, she performed in various showcases, full-length productions, and benefit concerts as a member of the department’s performance ensemble, Troy Dance Theatre. She also had the opportunity to choreograph and showcase works on her colleagues. She trained under resident faculty Tracy Gilland-Shillabeer (Tisch School of the Arts, Ad Deum) and Dominique Angel (Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet), and guest artists such as Edward Villella (Founder: Miami City Ballet), Wes Chapman (American Ballet Theatre), Lori Belilove (Isadora Duncan Dance Company), and Dean McFlicker (NBC Senior VP & Creative Director), to name a few. While completing her dance degree, she taught Early Childhood classes for The Dance Center in Luverne, Alabama.
